Frequently asked questions

Answers about creating virtual tours on Astra3D, capturing 360 photos with AstraPano, custom domains, stitching credits, plans and refunds.

Getting started

What is Astra3D?

Astra3D is a no-code platform for building 360 virtual tours and virtual stores in the browser. You upload or capture 360 photos, link them with hotspots, add media and publish the tour on a link, an embed or your own domain.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Everything is done in the visual editor: drag in your scenes, place hotspots, add text, audio or video, and publish. Developers can still embed a published tour on any website with an iframe.

What do I need to create my first tour?

Either a 360 camera such as an Insta360, or just a smartphone with AstraPano. Any equirectangular 360 photo (2:1 ratio) can be uploaded as a scene.

Which industries use Astra3D?

Real estate developers and agents, hotels and resorts, retail stores, tourism boards and attractions, art galleries and museums. The editor adapts to the type of tour you create, for example floor plans and enquiry forms appear for real estate.

Can visitors open a tour in a VR headset?

Yes. Published tours run in the web browser on phones, desktops and VR headsets, with no app to install. In a headset, visitors can look around and teleport between scenes.

Virtual tours

Can I publish a tour on my own domain?

Yes, on the Pro plan. Point a subdomain such as tour.yourbrand.com to Astra3D with a CNAME record and the tour opens there with your branding. The SSL certificate is issued automatically.

Can I remove Astra3D branding?

White label is included in the Pro plan. Your logo replaces ours in the viewer, and the tour can run on your own domain.

Do tours collect leads?

Real estate tours include an enquiry form, brochures and floor plans. Enquiries appear in your dashboard alongside visitor analytics for each tour.

Will my tour load quickly on mobile data?

Scenes are served from a CDN as compressed WebP images, so tours stay light on mobile data and open quickly on phones.

AstraPano capture

What is AstraPano?

AstraPano is Astra3D's phone capture tool. You stand in one spot, turn slowly while the guide tells you where to point, and the photos are stitched into a 360 panorama in the cloud. Then you move to the next spot.

Do I need a 360 camera to use AstraPano?

No. AstraPano works with the camera already in your phone. A 360 camera is faster for large projects, but a phone is enough for apartments, rooms, shops and showrooms.

What is a stitching credit?

One credit turns one capture into one 360 panorama. If stitching fails, the credit is returned to your account. Starter includes 5 credits a month, Pro includes 40, and you can buy a top-up of 10 credits at any time.

Where are my captures stored?

Each capture is saved to a collection in your dashboard. When you create a tour from a collection, its panoramas become the tour's scenes without being compressed again.

Plans and billing

Is there a free plan?

Yes. A free account can publish one tour with up to 100 MB of storage. Paid plans add more tours, storage and stitching credits.

How much do paid plans cost?

Starter is ₹249 or $4 a month and Pro is ₹999 or $12 a month. Yearly billing costs ten times the monthly price, so you get two months free. Visitors from India pay in rupees and everyone else in US dollars.

Do unused credits roll over?

Monthly credits do not roll over to the next month. If you upgrade, your unused credits move with you to the new plan.

What happens if my plan expires?

Your tours are unpublished and capture is paused, but nothing is deleted. Renew the plan and you can publish them again.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds follow our published refund policy, which covers the evaluation window, credits that have been used and how to make a request. You can read it at astra3d.com/refund-policy.

Virtual stores

How do shoppers buy from a virtual store?

Product hotspots show the name, images and details of an item, and the buy button links to the product page on your own website. Checkout, prices and payments stay on your store, so nothing changes in how you sell.

Do shoppers need an account?

No. Anyone with the link can walk through the store and open products without signing up.
